Support of Orphans & Vulnerable ChildrenOrphaned, homeless and vulnerable children are one of the great devastations facing African nations presently. Desperation has become a driving force for them, where they live one day to the next in the hope of merely surviving. In this desperation, they make sacrifices and compromises in order to simply eat a meal or have a place to sleep for the night, trading their innocence and virtue as children in to fill their bellies.U4A working in villages as Orphan Homes, meet with local leaders and through prayer and discipleship, show them the value of caring for the villages’ orphan children themselves, placing them with families in the community. U4A is committed to seeing these precious children redeemed from their deplorable situations and provided with a home and family, creating a safe, loving, nurturing environment, where they will receive a healthy diet and strong education. From that place, they may be released back into the community as healthy, educated, well-adjusted adults so that they may be productive participants in their communities. As a direct result of AIDS, the population of sub-saharan Africa is now in decline. Parents are dying, leaving their children to fend for themselves on the streets or as indentured servants to other relatives. U4A is currently caring for children ranging in age from 3 to 17 years old. We are praying for supporters to come alongside of us to enable families to raise up these children and return them to society as strong men and women of God. We believe that God intended each child to have a father and a mother figure and for that reason we believe strongly that orphans need families not institutions. In being a supporter, you would under gird orphan's host family, commit to make a regular financial contribution to the general welfare of the child. You may communicate with the child by sending a letter, a card or a small gift. We would be more than willing to arrange a trip for you to visit the child/children at any time and also you will receive pictures of the Child. In return, U4A working with the host families commit to communicating regularly with you as the sponsor through e-newsletters throughout the year to inform you of various events at the Orphans Homes and news about the orphans and their sponsor.
