Unite 4 Africa, Inc. is overseen by an Executive Board of Directors that is comprised of individuals who are committed to the mission, vision, and integrity of the organization.

David Thoresen
Secretary

David Thoresen is married to Lisa Thoresen. They have two young children: Amelia and Luke. He is currently the Director of International Outreach at Pantano Christian Church in Tucson, AZ. He holds a bachelors degree in Economics from DePauw University and an MBA in Global Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management.

David began his career in working in Chicago for a local bank holding company, managing all correspondent banking operations. After he completed his MBA in 1996 he moved to Tucson, AZ, to manage a bilingual call center while starting up a new operation of credit and collections management in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As Director of International Operations, he was responsible for the operations and finance in these two locations. He also served as a consultant to credit grantors in the US and Brazil.

In 2001 David took a job as the Sr. Financial Analyst and Quality Manager at a Tucson-based outsourcing company serving the maquiladora industry in Mexico. He continues on a part-time basis with the same company consulting on quality, finance, and management issues.

David’s passion for learning about and experiencing other cultures began in high school when he befriended and exchange student from Chile. This passion continued to grow and led to a career in international business. When he came to know Jesus and was baptized in 1998, David saw an opportunity to combine his two greatest passions in life: his newfound love of Christ and his long-time passion of foreign cultures and peoples. Mission work was the obvious marriage of these passions. He began as a volunteer working on missions in Africa at his church (Pantano Christian Church). In June of 2006 he accepted a full-time job at the church to oversee all mission work. He serves there today as Director of International Outreach.
