W. Africa Director

Paul was born 1972 in Tarikpaa Village, Savelugu /Nantong District of the N. Ghana. He is married to Cynthia and they have one child, Chenti-Wumi Jessica.Later in secondary school he got to accept Christ as a personal savior and finally become the leader of Scripture Union (SU) and also actively involved in village evangelism.

After graduating from Secondary school he worked with a Christian organisation called “Dagbani Literacy project” as head of department for “Training, Literature production and Adult Primary School” which was the core of the organisation. Over 500 facilitators and supervisors were trained to teach adults in the rural communities and more than 3 different types of primers were revised and more reading materials developed in the mother tongue. Dagbani Literacy Project was an offshoot of the Ghana Institute of Linguistics, Literacy and Bible Translation (GILLBT) an affiliate of “Summer Institute of Linguistics” (SIL International).

In the year 2000 he gained admission into the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana and graduated in 2004 with a second class upper division in Bachelor of Science Development Planning (Bsc. Planning). In the university he become Baptist Students Union Leader (Lay Pastor) of over 300 member’s campus church.

Upon his return from the university in 2004, he was able to help raise Literacy and Development through Partnership (LDP) independent of GILLBT to a status of local NGO as he runs department of Rural Economic Empowerment and Donor Relations (REEDOR) where he currently is in charge of fund raising, partnerships, Donor correspondence and economic empowerment (micro credit) of the rural communities. Recently a honey Business unit has been established known as “Savanna Pure Honey Company (SPHC) to serve as an income generating project for LDP.

Paul is involved in his Local Church in Tamale as a Youth adviser, prayer coordinator, praise and worship president and a treasure to the Tahima Baptist Association (a district of local Baptist churches). He is the Sector youth coordinator of the Northern Ghana in the Baptist fraternity where his responsibility is to get youth mobilized and get active in church and community business.

Paul has been involved with Okongo as he serve in Northern Ghana and now he is the W. Africa Director. He is motivated for being part of U4A to seize the opportunity to serve in bring spiritual, physical and social development to the desperate and less privilege.
